Celebrating 80 years, we are the oldest and largest cooperative preschool in Seattle.

If you are interested in having your child attend, please email vc.membership@magnoliacoop.org.

The purpose of Magnolia Cooperative Preschool is to further the education of parents in the principles of early childhood education and to provide a cooperative preschool experience for the children enrolled in the preschool.

We focus on the social and emotional development of the child through creative and cooperative play.

Parent Education is a key aspect of the Co-Op model.

Parent Educators advise teachers and help parents learn parenting skills.

Parents assist in the classroom, once a week, and perform administrative duties for the school.

Teachers plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum.

Every family will enroll at least one adult in the North Seattle Parent Education class. In this course, the Parent Educator is the parent’s “professor,” the monthly parent education meeting is the “class,” and the preschool is the “class laboratory.”
