About

Magnolia Cooperative Preschool admits students of any race, color, national origin, and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school. It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school-administered programs.

Our school is affiliated with the Seattle Central Community College’s Co-op Program. The emphasis of our program is the social development of the child. Of primary importance is building a child’s positive self-image, self-esteem, and self-confidence. Social, intellectual, and psychological gains are made through creative and cooperative play.

Our Co-op is a non-profit organization, run by a volunteer parent Board. It is a nonprofit under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.

A cooperative preschool is unique in that you and your child enroll in the program together. A parent or caregiver attends class with their child one day per week. As the child grows older, they gradually spend more time at preschool on their own. This slow transition into preschool fosters self-confidence, independence, and kindergarten readiness. Through years of involvement with a group of children and parents, a community develops. The resources and support this network of parents provides is a benefit that lasts far beyond the preschool years.
