OUR PROGRAMS

Magnolia Cooperative Preschool offers a range of classes for Toddlers through Pre-K, and add-on options to help fill out the week. Classes include a combination of circle time, free choice time, music, snack, and outdoor time on our secure, private playground. Older classes (3 and up) also have the opportunity to take several off-site field trips throughout the year, which are included in the class cost.

Magnolia Co-op is also proud to offer special weekly Summer classes for our existing families. Check back for more information later in Spring.

Weekly In-Class Working Requirements

A Parent or Caregiver is required to attend class once a week with their child and act as a teaching assistant. Families will set their regular work day during class orientation. This gradual transition to independence in the classroom makes separation very straightforward for parents and children.

Parent Education Advisor Fee (PEAF) - Each parent or caregiver attending class will register as a student in the Parent Education program with North Seattle College. This fee covers adult enrollment and the cost of Parent Educators through North Seattle CC.

Please see our Parent Education (link) page for more information about our integration with the college program.

Late Fee — $25 per late payment. You can enroll in Auto-Pay to help avoid late fees.

*All fees are subject to change, by vote of the School Board.

If you have any further inquiries, please don't hesitate to reach out to our treasurer at treasurer@magnoliacoop.org

  • Parents/caregivers volunteer one day per week in their child's class. Nannies or other family members are welcome to be the volunteer in the classroom. We ask that it be the same person all the time, but the occasional sub is allowed.

Parents attend Parent Education classes one evening per month at Magnolia Cooperative Preschool in conjunction with North Seattle Community College. Parents attending these classes are responsible for relaying the information received to any nannies or other family members who volunteer in the classroom.

Families are responsible for a Class Job and an All-School Job. The time commitment for jobs varies, and some of them have the bulk of the work during a couple of weeks, others a little to do each week throughout the year. You’ll be able to choose something that fits your schedule, talents, and passion. Expect to spend an average of 1-2 hours per week on these jobs.

The Board of Directors of Magnolia Cooperative Preschool is made up of parent volunteers. All are welcome and encouraged to participate, including those who are new to the coop. Should you choose a Board position as your all school job you will attend 2-hour monthly board meetings in addition to your volunteer work. If you are part of the Executive Committee, there may be an additional monthly meeting.

  • You will receive a confirmation email from Jovial, our school’s registration and school payment tool. It will outline any requirements due, including items such as immunization forms and payments.

If enrolling prior to the first day of school: Your Teacher or Class Chair will contact you with information about summer meet-ups, orientation, and more.

If enrolling after the first day of school: Your Teacher or Class Chair will contact you to set a meet & greet, orientation, and to confirm your first day of class.

  • After commencement of classes, a member may use a prepaid month’s tuition only by giving notice a full thirty days prior to his/her withdrawal. To give notice you must request a Withdrawal Form from your membership registrar, the Assistant Treasurer, or your teacher. No refunds will be given for unused portions of a calendar month.

If several months’ tuition is paid in advance, any advance tuition, with the exception of the first and last month’s tuition, will be refunded upon withdrawal from the Cooperative.

If a member must withdraw from the Cooperative because of moving outside the city of Seattle, on recommendation of a doctor or their Preschool Teacher, or on directive from the Board, and is unable to give a full 30 days notice, then any unused full month’s tuition is refundable. Refunds for other emergency situations shall be issued upon approval of the Board.

  • We are proud to offer scholarships to families that may need assistance. Scholarship applications can be turned in at registration. New applications are required each quarter (fall, winter, spring) and details are kept confidential. See current Scholarship Guidelines. Please contact the Treasurer with any questions.
