Summer school at the Magnolia co-op is a very popular program, reserved for registered co-op students only. Summer school is a wonderful way for students to continue their social development and learning through the summer.
Most classes run 9AM-12PM. This year we will also offer four weeks of afternoon sessions for older children from 1-4PM. The class day includes a variety of activities such as choice time, art projects, music, story time, snack (provided by parents) and outside play time.
Parent Volunteers & Lottery
While parents are not required to volunteer, we need daily parent volunteers to run our program. And because summer school is so popular, final registration for each session is determined by lottery. Volunteers and board members get the same priority in our lottery. Volunteers do not pay tuition on the days they work in class.
For each session, we also have a volunteer-pool of parents who are available to work in class if volunteers call in sick. These parents are next in line for priority in the lottery. Volunteer-pool members do not pay tuition for the days they end up working.
Any questions? Contact our summer registrar Mary Beth at email@example.com.
Parents of every summer school participant will be asked to help on one of the designated classroom cleaning dates listed below. The MAC will be open during these times for childcare but please schedule ahead of time.
