Our Mission

The purpose of Magnolia Cooperative Preschool is to further the education of parents in the principles of early childhood education and to provide a cooperative preschool experience for the children enrolled in the preschool.

Parental participation in class and with the school is vital to the way we fulfill our purpose. By joining our program, you are taking an active role in your child’s early education and your own development as a parent.

Affiliation

Magnolia Co-Op is affiliated with the North Seattle Community College Co-Op program.

Adult Co-Op members are registered with the college to earn parent education credits. Members become actual students, learning about early childhood development during their time spent in the classroom, as well as during monthly parent education sessions led by our amazing Parent Educators.

The Parent Educators are specialists in early childhood education and development and help guide you through techniques and milestones of your child’s age. They are found in our classes throughout the week, getting to know you and your children. They attend the monthly class meetings and present various topics throughout the year applicable to the group’s collective age and development stages. Our Parent Educators are trusted and cherished colleagues amongst our families.

PEAF Fee

Our Parent Education Fee (PEAF) is for parent’s college registration, Parent Educators at our school, a portion towards Co-Op Scholarships, and other operating costs for the Co-Op Program through the college.
