What is a Co-Op?

Is Co-Op Preschool right for your family?

The Co-Op model is a really special and different experience than your average drop-off preschool. It provides for convenience, offers a high quality experience, and is inclusive of parents creating an affordable program to guide children during some of their most important years.

Parent education is a key aspect of the Co-Op model. During class, parents learn how to interact with other children, how to support and understand them, and gain priceless education from parent educators. Our educators come from the college program to assist with observations and advice, both in class and during monthly parent education sessions.

The Co-Op is built on parent involvement, as parents act as teaching assistants (supporting in-class and administrative needs) and as volunteer as Board Members, who oversee the high-level operations of the preschool - from managing social media and marketing, to making key budget decisions and running enrollment each year. The hard-work of these parent volunteers is what helps to keep prices affordable.

Our Co-Op environment focuses on a play-based curriculum structured with corresponding age-appropriate activities. This environment encourages self-exploration, conflict resolution, and provides children critical learning skills in resilience, confidence, and more. As the child ages, their time in school grows longer and relies less on their individual caregiver, allowing for a comfortable and trusted experience as they prepare to enter kindergarten.

The community that is built within our Co-Op is priceless and extends years beyond our school. Families enter elementary schools with a strong familiarity and a heart for giving and learning, bringing their experiences and friendships from Co-Op with them.
